12 Months aka One Year

January 29th, 2013 will forever be one of my most favorite days and I can't believe it's been a year since that snowy day. Nothing, in my 25 years, compares to the fullness of this past year. Nothing compares to the amount of memories and milestones. The first year of this little girl's life was the best year of ours. Sometimes I miss the squishy newborn but this sassy and sweet one-year old is something else.

I took these pictures right as we woke up yesterday and so she looks a little sleepy and we have zero other good ones.

Happy Birthday, monkey. We love you.

Sleep? I don't want to jinx it but sleep is going better! Like once a night better! (You actually slept from 10:00-8:30 last night... FIRST TIME EVER)

Weight? 18lbs, 12 oz (33 percentile) Height? 29 3/4 inches (75 percentile)

Milestones? You really started talking more and more this past month. You say "uh-oh" when you drop something. You call Rue, "kitty" and say "meow". You say "I do, I do, I do" all the time - but I'm not sure that you really mean that you want to do it. You say "stuck" when you are trying to get my earrings or into things you're not supposed to (because we say it's stuck to you). You hold your hands out when you want something or someone. And you put your hands out (see below) when we ask, "Where's the kitty? Or where's daddy?" You are still crawling around and making no real attempt at walking. You love to zoom around with your walking toys and hold our hands and walk - but for now, that's it and we are a-okay with it!

Likes? You like to play with people more than any toy we've found. You like to torment Rue-ster. You love baths and LOVED the ocean when we went to Mexico, your love of water comes from your daddy's side. You love your cousin Lily and she's starting to warm up to you! You love to open and shut things (Oh yeah - you say "shut") and pull things out and put things back.

Dislikes? You HATE being changed. You hate having your face cleaned (you would fling yourself back so hard when we tried to wipe your boogey face, our only really option while you were sick was to give you 5 baths a day and trick you into cleaning your face). Your dislikes of certain foods comes in waves - right now, you seem to like everything again but last week, you didn't want to eat anything. You hate being sick and we hated it too!

Anything else? We went to Mexico (seperate blog post coming some day) and you had so much fun. You were up before the sun every day (yay for us!) and you loved being in the warm weather. You LOVED the ocean and had zero fear of the waves coming towards you. We have your birthday party this Saturday and I can't wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family!

Mama? Daddy? We're combined for this month :) . We listed our house right before we left on the cruise and we are now under contract and just waiting for everything to go through. So we are busy with the house hunting and work and late night school for Cokie and the cruise was amazing and Piper's b-day and Colton's b-day tomorrow (Jan 31st) annnd we are excited for life to slow down a bit but it never does :) We are happy.
